Carlow County Museum supports Carlow Pride Festival 2022

We recognise the importance celebrating diversity and inclusion in our community and would like wish everyone associated with Carlow Pride every success with this year’s Carlow Pride Festival, this coming Sunday, 10th July. Carlow County Museum supports everyone taking pride in who they are.
Carlow County Museum is a member of the Local Authority Museums’ Network (LAMN), the representative body for twelve local authority regional museums across Ireland who all play a vital role in the social, cultural and economic life of regions across Ireland. As part of LAMN’s new strategy ‘Reimagining the Past for the Future 2022 – 2026’, the body, in partnership with the National Museum of Ireland (NMI), will be announcing in the coming months plans to bring the NMI ‘Rainbow Revolutions’ exhibition throughout the country.
This important exhibit, which was launched by the National Museum of Ireland just before the Covid pandemic, uses objects, stories and poignant oral histories to paint a picture the experiences of the LGBTQI+ community in Ireland.
You can read more about the initiative in Sally MacDonald’s article in ‘The Out Mag’, which is published with this week’s Nationalist.
